Work Experience
In addition to being a full time student, I have 3 years of kitchen and restaurant experience. I've also been able to attain 2 years in customer service experience.
These experiences have contributed to my own personal, professional growth and taught me valuable skills which I hope to transfer to the Recreation and Fitness industry.
In the future I hope to acquire additional volunteer and work experience in my industry in order to learn the necessary skills for success.
Volunteer Experience
During my course as an aspiring BPEC-recreation student I have had opportunities to volunteer in the Physical Education and Medical Rehabilitation industries.
As a BPEC student I was able to work with grade 11 and 12 students at Cariboo Hill Secondary School for my first fieldwork placement. I was able to shadow and learn various skills from professional teachers as well as provide instruction and support to students within the class.
Prior to being accepted into the BPEC program I also volunteered for the Vancouver Coastal Health "Wellness Walker" program. This program focused on promoting light physical activity for sedentary adults, seniors and people seeking physical rehabilitation.
In the future I seek to expand my volunteer opportunities and gain additional knowledge in the Recreation and Fitness industry.
